This list is sent to the Monbusho, who will decide what university you can apply to. And when you're told which university, you will take the tests/interviews/nothing (for example, Kyushu University doesn't require a test or interview).

Nope, there's no need for EJU for us Monbusho scholars :D All we have are the internal tests at the respective gaidai's (which are admittedly very hard, especially math).

^_^Eustacia Tanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09861497408557552791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2599794462750358949.post-34872092342500803102013-01-10T19:38:08.912+09:002013-01-10T19:38:08.912+09:00Haha, I think I'm more lucky than awesome :D
...Haha, I think I'm more lucky than awesome :D

Congrats on getting into 九大! :) I don't know that much about it, only that it's one of the national/public schools, so it must be great :)
I wanted to ask a few questions, if that's okay.
1. Can you select more universities, or choose from a list where you want to go? Or you simply get one university selected for you?
2. I think in the facebook group mentioned something about EJU exams, is that what you had to take? I only looked at the basic math test, and although not so hard in retrospect, it's quite confusing sometimes ˙:S

As for my prep year, I was told that it will be decided in march (or at least that's when they will tell me). I would prefer Tokyo, but in Osaka I could learn Osaka-ben ^^Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17104901381156480638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2599794462750358949.post-62966106123156474862012-12-30T19:36:21.019+09:002012-12-30T19:36:21.019+09:00Hey(:

You must be really awesome to get the scholarship!

Do you know if you're coming to Tokyo or Osaka? In any case, it's great to meet a kohai ^^

Thank you so much for the compliments. I'm glad that my blog was informative for you. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

^_^Eustacia Tanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09861497408557552791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2599794462750358949.post-43159228467018690262012-12-29T03:51:49.760+09:002012-12-29T03:51:49.760+09:00Hello!

I think I saw maybe two youtube videos about the dorm, plus your blog and that's all.

I got the scholarship for next year, so starting April I'll be in Japan as well, can't wait for it. :) I was a little surprised when I read one of your first posts and you wrote that 5 students recieved the scholarship this year, and 14 last year... Here in my country only 8 people got the undergraduate scholarship in the last 8 years! You can guess how worried I was during the last few months. :)

I just wanted to say hello here, and wish you good luck for the future. Christmas is already over, but メリクリ. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17104901381156480638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2599794462750358949.post-87893476409907213622012-12-27T18:57:50.017+09:002012-12-27T18:57:50.017+09:00Thank you!

The Monbukagakusho gives out graduate scholarship, and the best part is that you don't have to be fluent in Japanese for it. (It is possible to take classes in English if you're a graduate scholar)

Personally, I like Japanese the Manga Way, and the Japanese in Mangaland series. If you have to chose between the two, I'd recommend Japanese in Mangaland if you're trying to get rid of the "romaji crutch" as soon as possible. Personally, I like the structure of Japanese the Manga way better, but they have romaji throughout the book.

Do you know about a scholarship for a masters degree in japan? I finished college in june and I've been studying japanese in the meantime. Can you recommend me a good book for beginners-intermediate level, I'm not too good at reading just yet, thank you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
